$50K Reward for Information on Echo Park Stabbing
LOS ANGELES–The Los Angeles City Council approved a $50,000 reward today for information that leads to the killer of a 28-year-old man who was stabbed to death last summer in Echo Park.
According to the council motion, Hugo Castillo was hanging out with friends in the north end of Echo Park near restrooms when an individual approached him about 10:35 p.m. July 21st and punched him for no apparent reason.
Castillo pushed the individual away, then was stabbed with a sharp object. The suspect then fled northbound on Lemoyne Street toward Sunset Boulevard.
Castillo died at County-USC Medical Center.
The reward is being offered to anyone who can provide information leading to the identification, apprehension and conviction of the person responsible for Castillo’s death.
