Still No Tree Lighting for Atwater

ATWATER VILLAGE–Despite a petition with nearly 1,000 signatures and dozens of hand-written pleas from local children, it appears Wells Fargo is remaining firm in their decision to no longer allow the community’s annual tree lighting festival to take place in its parking lot, after the bank called police on residents protesting the decision in front of its Atwater branch November 9th.

The volunteer-run annual lighting of a large evergreen tree on Glendale Boulevard has been a neighborhood tradition for 25 years, and organizers have said there is no comparable location to the Wells Fargo lot in size or safety.
